Usher's stepson, Kile Glover, dead after life support removed
Usher's stepson from a previous marriage has died after life support was removed following a boating injury on a Georgia lake. Kile Glover was 11.
Kile was taken off life support and died Saturday morning, a little more than two weeks after the July 6 accident on Lake Lanier, about 40 miles from Atlanta. His mother is Tameka Foster Raymond.
Raymond, whose divorce from Usher was finalized in November 2009 except for a bitter custody dispute that raged until very recently, tweeted a photo of Kile with a younger brother Friday night.
Kile was floating on an inner tube with a 15-year-old girl behind a pontoon boat that had been rented by the family and friends. Another member of their party allegedly ran them over while riding a personal watercraft, leaving Kile in critical condition and the girl with injuries that reportedly included a broken arm.
Unresponsive with a head injury when he was pulled from the water, the boy was later declared brain-dead at an Atlanta hospital. Usher, who had helped raise Kile since he was 4, was reportedly devastated. Kile's father, Ryan Glover, is an Atlanta TV executive.
