Sparkling wit. Charming personality. Razor-sharp intellect. That's how to describe the mastermind behind this Nike Air Max 95 Limited Edition (3.5y-7y) Boys' Shoe. Part of the Doernbecher Freestyle collection, this shoe came from the imagination of Daniel, a remarkable kid with boundless energy and a big heart.
- Innovative lacing system for a customized fit and secure lockdown
- Max Air units in the heel and forefoot for maximum impact protection
- Outsole flex grooves for enhanced flexibility and a smooth stride
This Nike Air Max 95 is more than just something to look at--it's a multi-sensory experience. Daniel, a visually impaired kid that doesn't let anything slow him down, designed it with plenty of bright red because it's easiest for him to see. Run your fingers down one side and along the tongue, and you'll feel the words "Be Brave" written in Braille. A reflective lighting bolt at the heel is tribute to Daniel's favorite book, while a cartoon on the sockliner shows off his silly side. The bottom of the shoe has even more of Daniel's favorite things: music notes, sound waves, a piano keyboard and even Wii boxing gloves.
About the Doernbecher Freestyle program
A partnership between Nike and Doernbecher Children's Hospital, the Doernbecher Freestyle program allows a group of special patients who have triumphed over serious illnesses to design authentic Nike shoes. These shoes are sold on a limited-edition basis at Niketowns and NikeStore.com, with proceeds benefiting OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital. This remarkable fundraising partnership has raised more than $3 million since the program began in 2004.
